At HD Soap we use several different types of natural butters in our products, and one that we want to highlight today is mango butter!
Mango butter is actually derived from the seeds that are inside the pits of the mango fruit. You might be surprised to learn that mango butter does not actually smell like mango! It is known for the way in which it moisturizes and soothes skin. It is a great source of several fatty acids and is rich in antioxidants. It also has vitamins A, C, and E!
This important ingredient is a natural emollient, which means that it softens and soothes the skin. It is non-greasy and absorbs easily into the skin. It helps repair minor cuts and rashes, soothes eczema and psoriasis, calms the pain of sunburns, relieves the itching of bug bites, and hydrates dry skin. Because it absorbs quickly into the skin, it starts working fast!
It also helps clear blemishes by keeping the skin moisturized without clogging pores. It also naturally helps with inflammation.
Mango butter also maintains the skin’s elasticity and flexibility, which is good news if you want to fight fine lines and wrinkles or minimize the appearance of scars. Skincare products with vitamins A and E help slow down the signs of aging, while vitamin C helps brighten the skin.
Another use for mango butter is that it moisturizes hair and is a very effective scalp conditioner. It helps hold in the moisture and strengthens hair follicles. Healthy follicles keep hair from breaking and may encourage hair growth. Mango butter also helps control frizz and can boost volume. It even can help protect hair from UV radiation when applied before exposure to the sun. Say hello to soft, smooth, and healthy hair!
Mango butter is found in some of our From Scratch Soaps, such as our Shaving Soaps and our seasonal Millionaire’s Bar! It is also a key ingredient in the Mango Shea, Mango Shea Peppermint, and Sweet Citrus Body Butters.
We hope you continue to fall in love with mango butter like we have! What’s your favorite HD Soap product with this great ingredient?
