We added a new scent to our Valentine’s Day lineup – AMBER!
For those that might be not familiar with this scent, it is often described as warm, a little earthy, rich with a hint of honey, and musky. It pairs amazingly well with vanilla as well as cherry, which are our other two Valentine’s scents!
The mineral amber (which is fossilized tree sap) actually does not have any scent but is a gorgeous amber color. This is what people think of most frequently, however the perfume amber is actually solid, and many times made of labdanum, benzoin, and beeswax. Then a perfumer adds in other scents that make up the typical “amber” scent that people love. Some of the most popular additions are frankincense, vanilla, and patchouli. This “amber” scent mixture has been used for thousands of years!
The amber we use is different from other products because ours is not a synthetic scent, but instead it is a plant-based mix of essential oils as well as non-synthetic fragrance oils.
Although there are no therapeutic benefits to using the amber fragrance oils in our products, many claim that the scent alone helps calm emotions and stimulate the libido.
