The aloe plant is a succulent that is not only useful for soothing burns; it also has so many benefits for your skin and hair!
Aloe contains antioxidants as well as vitamins A and C. It is incredibly anti-inflammatory, which is why it is so popular for treating burns. In fact, aloe has been sold as a recognized “treatment” since the 1950’s to heal first- and second-degree burns. Since the first ingredient in our Hand Sanitizer is aloe vera juice, our Lavender Hand Sanitizer is frequently used by customers and consultants to soothe and treat sores, rashes, and burns. Many studies suggest that aloe accelerates skin repair, specifically for burns.
Aloe has other skin benefits related to its anti-inflammatory properties: if you suffer from breakouts, it may help you find relief! Aloe contains enzymes that act as an exfoliator, which is good news if you have blemishes. Be careful to not use too much aloe; although aloe is moisturizing, too much exfoliation can dry the skin out, which in turn can cause more breakouts from your skin over-producing oil. This amazing plant is also known to fight bacteria, viruses, and fungi which will help fight so many skin issues in addition to breakouts! (HINT: You can also spray the hand sanitizer on your face!)
Last summer our Kaolin Clay Paste was a seasonal favorite to help with bug bites, rashes, and sunburn; it was also used as a mask to shrink pores and as a spot treatment for blemishes. As you might have guessed, it also contained aloe!
Another benefit is that aloe fights the signs of aging. It doesn’t reverse your lines, but it can slow down your wrinkles and lines from getting deeper and more prominent. Our Relax Toner contains aloe juice, and our Spinach and Sea Kelp Dry Mask includes aloe vera powder. Both products will leave you moisturized and help maintain your youthful glow because aloe can increase collagen production and improve your skin’s elasticity!
As a hair product, your scalp can also benefit from aloe vera juice as it repairs dead skin cells, reduces itching, and promotes hair growth. It makes a fantastic conditioner, leaving you with smooth and shiny locks! You will find aloe vera oil in our Hair Serum, if you want to try a little extra nourishment for your hair!
