Milk is fantastic for achieving clear, glowing skin, but did you know that dry milk is even more potent and effective?
Dry milk, also called milk powder, is what you get when water evaporates out of liquid milk and only the solid material remains. Because the milk solids are so highly concentrated, it is more powerful; it even has more vitamins, minerals, and lactic acid.
When used on the skin, it is a type of cleanser that hydrates the skin, helping remove blackheads and blemishes, while also lightening, tightening, and smoothing skin, giving it a youthful glow. Dry milk also hydrates and soothes itchy skin, and it even boosts collagen production.
Dry milk is commonly made into a paste with other ingredients and then applied to the face. For example, mixing it with orange juice and oatmeal is great to lighten the skin. You can use turmeric, honey, and dry milk to help with breakouts. If evening out your skin tone is the goal, mix dry milk with yogurt and lemon juice.
Of course our absolute favorite product with dry milk is our Dry Masks; these packets provide pre-mixed amazing ingredients, and all you need to add is just water or honey!
Check out this blog post to help you decide which mask to try first! Our Turmeric, Spinach and Sea Kelp, and Activated Charcoal mask all use the power of dry milk. (Our Mocha and Citrus contain dry coconut milk, which is also great for your skin!)
In July we added our new Green Tea Matcha Mask, which also has dry milk. Green teas are very popular in skincare to help with inflammation, redness, and to fight the signs of aging. These teas soothe skin irritations, cuts, sunburn, itchy skin, blemishes, and more. They are packed with antioxidants and vitamins that nourish, protect, and hydrate the skin. Matcha also contains lots of anti-inflammatory properties and is great for all skin types, even sensitive skin.
