Today’s blog comes straight from Christine! Read on for her thoughts about one of our most versatile From Scratch soaps.
The other day, a customer came in for a product that would help with her dry and itchy skin. Immediately I turned to our From Scratch Goat’s Milk Honey and Oats Soap! I started by sharing my favorite benefits of the soap:
- Honey has anti-inflammatory properties, which is always good news for those who struggle with breakouts, itchy skin, or even a sunburn. Some even use it to help fight the signs of aging and keep a youthful glow since it’s loaded with antioxidants. It even has some moisturizing benefits, since it helps your skin draw moisture from the air and retain it.
- The anti-inflammatory property of oatmeal is also beneficial to those who suffer from dry or irritated skin. Oatmeal has a very low pH, which is very calming to red, inflamed, sensitive skin. Because of its natural emollient properties, oats also act as a moisturizer and a gentle exfoliator to help remove dead, dry skin.
- Goat milk is great for sensitive skin; it is a nice and gentle cleanser. Goat’s milk is known for its fatty content; this builds a a nice, creamy lather. Its creaminess lends well to soothing conditions like itchy and dry skin, as it keeps skin nourished and hydrated, thanks to its non-stripping properties.
Our Goats Milk Honey and Oats has been around longer than I can remember; it might date all the way back to maybe 2015! However, I realized that we have never dedicated a blog post just to this soap! It has many mentions in our blog post about honey or our blog about oatmeal, but never its own spotlight. It is well past time that we showcase our GMHO! If you have dry, red, and itchy skin, this bar is a SOLID choice to try. It is unscented, but does carry a slightly “foodie” scent because of its components. It’s also a bar we carry year round. If you are a fan of our Millionaire’s From Scratch Soap and it is out of stock, you should definitely give GMHO a try! I know you will love it.
