Spotlight: Sunflower Oil

Did you see that we released our brand new Sunflower From Scratch Soap? We knew we had to make an HD product with this awesome ingredient.

The use of sunflower oil dates back to as early as 3,000 BC and was originally used to treat snake bites, in addition to skin and hair applications. It is still a great ingredient today, as it is high in vitamins A, C, D, and E, as well as other nutrients and antioxidants.

The vitamin E content in sunflower oil helps protect your skin from harmful UV rays and other environmental toxins. This is great news for aging skin, since vitamin E can also help with the elasticity and collagen, thereby reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Vitamins A, C, and D also help mitigate breakouts. It naturally helps your skin get rid of bacteria and germs and regenerate skin cells. It can also help remove impurities from the skin, including dead skin cells.

Sunflower oil is also an exceptional moisturizer that helps lock moisture into your skin; it is effective even for dry or irritated skin. It is very soothing and has anti-inflammatory properties to help with redness and irritation. It is great for all kinds of skin types since it does not clog pores, and most people do not have a reaction to this oil. (NOTE: those with nut or seed allergies may wish to exercise caution.)

This oil is also great for your hair and scalp. Because of its vitamins and its deep cleaning properties, it can help encourage hair growth and keep your scalp clean from product buildup or flakes. Having a well-moisturized scalp may help with hair growth, plus your hair shaft can absorb and lock in that moisture. Sunflower oil is light enough that you can even put it directly on your hair, helping keep it soft and smooth; say goodbye to frizzy, unmanageable hair!

Stay tuned to see what other products we come up with using this powerful ingredient, but in the meantime, add a bar of two of this new limited edition soap to your cart before they disappear!
