Christine is excited to introduce you to Kelly Kammenzind, today’s guest blogger! “Kelly is the consultant who has been actively selling HD Soap the longest; she has been selling with us for four years now! I love having Kelly as a part of the team, and she is someone I call a friend. Kelly is an amazing consultant who is consistent in her sales every month and is so encouraging to everyone! I am so thankful she joined us on this journey!”
I feel like I am a veteran when it comes to direct sales, but HD Soap is like no other direct sales company that I have ever sold for. When I was only 13 years old, I started selling Avon underneath my mom to the ladies in our neighborhood. I loved getting out and meeting new people and showing my love for products that they just had to have (plus those little lipstick samples were the bomb!).
I became a mom at a very young age and realized that, as much as I loved staying home with my little girl, I needed an outlet and adult conversation. Let’s just be honest for a minute: being a stay-at-home mom can be extremely lonely. My aunt sold Tupperware and I thought to myself, “I can totally do that” and so I gave it a try. At that time we did not have the convenience of online parties, so I only sold through home parties which I loved—but with a little one it was hard to be away for so long and for so many nights, so I only stayed with Tupperware for about 18 months. Jump ahead 12 years and seven more children; I was craving an outlet again and more adult conversations. I was invited to my first online Usborne party by my cousin. We loved books, and I just had to have all of them for my kids; if I sold them I could get them at a discount, so I signed up to sell.
After about a year of selling Usborne, I was invited to a HD Soap party by a dear friend of mine. I was geeked about the party and even set my phone to the time it would start so I could get a chance at winning the prize because, let’s face it, I am super competitive and had to win! I commented on EVERY SINGLE POST and even made sure I got my order in first (because you got more points that way!). By the end of the party I WAS HOOKED! So hooked that I messaged the consultant that night to ask how I could become a consultant. I literally started selling before I had even picked up my first order and tried it.
So why do I sell HD Soap?! I have so many reasons, but one of the biggest reasons for me is convenience. Being a homeschool/stay-at-home mom of nine kids is busy enough, but add in getting out of the house and having to find a sitter for that many, plus the cost to pay a sitter; well, it just wasn’t going to happen. The fact that I could sell HD from the comfort of my own home and still be able to care for my kids was the icing on the cake for me. I was not taking away from my kids other than the time I put into making posts and chatting with customers. When I get super busy at home, teaching my kids, grading papers or whatever it may be (like if one of the kids gets sick), I can take a step back and focus on my family without feeling like I am giving up on my HD Soap business.
I am very passionate about what my family puts into their bodies. I had thought many times about making natural products for us to use, but I just never had the time to make them. Knowing that these products were handmade with simple, raw ingredients and were handmade locally in Michigan was another reason I fell in love with HD.
This journey with HD has been more than just selling a product to customers. I have customers and fellow consultants that have become a part of my life and are now some of my closest friends, even if we have never met in person.
I feel like I am a broken record when I say this (so many other consultants have said the same thing!), but HD Soap is not a typical direct sales company where you feel like you are just another consultant selling for their company. HD Soap is truly a sisterhood of women who are in every walk of life–everyone from college students, sisters, wives, mothers, grandmothers, and so much more! No matter where we are in our lives, we have bound together and helped one another through hardships, achievements, goals, learning, prayers, and so much more. I can truly say that my boss and fellow consultants have prayed for me and my family during these times.
I have gained so much since I joined HD Soap back in December of 2015! I never thought that I would be coming up on my fourth anniversary. The friendships and amazing customers that I have gained in these past four years have changed my life immensely, and I cannot imagine them not being in my life.
I am so thankful and blessed that Christine prayed about this business and has shared it with all of us. It has allowed me to continue to stay home with my children and still be able to help provide for my family. It has not always been an easy journey but it is one I hope to continue for years to come!
