July’s Quarterly VIP BOX is a fun one! I LOVE the soaps in this one! We brought back three HD Soap From Scratch favorites: our Bouquet Soap, Sunflower Soap, and Fire Soap! The Bouquet is made with our classic soap recipe and really fun bright colors to help make it pop! Breathe in the fragrant, tropical florals in full bloom with an exotic fruit that is citrusy and sweet with a hint of peach and grapefruit zest. We love how many different citrus notes you pick up in this soap. Our Sunflower Soap and Fire Soaps have completely different scent profiles. Our Sunflower is more warm and foodie in nature, and our Fire Soap is more musky, yet features some fun crisp citrus notes.
What I love about both of these is they both contain annatto seed. Annatto seed powder is more than just a natural food dye; it is also excellent for your skin. Some companies use it for the color, but we wanted to use it because of the amazing skin benefits. Annatto seeds are from a tropical plant, the achiote tree (which is really more like a shrub). The seeds are extracted and then ground into a powder. These seeds are also high in antioxidants and tocotrienol (a form of vitamin E), which means it has potent skin-protecting properties. Annatto seeds have excellent cleansing properties, which are always good for blemished skin.

This quarter there are three new products to test and review! Please let me know what you think.
One is our Focus Essential Oil Blend containing peppermint, frankincense, lime, and orange essential oils ($20 value). These four oils work together to calm and focus your mind with aromatics. It was fun to bring in the frankincense, which has been known to help alleviate some feelings of anxiety and stress. Some even believe it helps with memory! As a busy mom, I have been loving this blend, and I hope you love it too.
How should you use the new blend? Included in your VIP are two accessories: a dryer ball ($5 value) and a car diffuser ($10 value). Dryer balls are used in place of dryer sheets. Add a few drops of the essential oil blend to your ball and put it into the dryer. The ball will bounce around with your clothing and keep them fluffy and static-free. The essential oils will leave your clothing smelling amazing. The car diffuser is a more natural option than the Christmas tree air freshener! Bring Focus with you on the road! Besides being a focusing aromatic blend, it also helps to get rid of germs. Lime, peppermint, and orange are all germ-fighting oils; fall is coming, and those school germs will be back before we know it!
The next new product is From Scratch Lanolin Soap ($7 value). Have you ever heard of a wool wash soap before? I had not. A customer came in last winter asking if we had one, and we didn’t. I went to Google; wool wash soap is a bar of hard soap that you can use to hand wash wool items or delicate clothing. I was like, “WOW! This is a cool concept for a bar soap! Laundry!” But this bar is for more than just for delicate laundry; lanolin is an amazing moisturizer. Lanolin is very beneficial for people with skin problems, such as sensitive skin, rashes, or even psoriasis. The hypoallergenic lanolin soothes the scalp and the skin. It relieves the itching and has a great softening effect.
Last up is a Foaming Hand Soap ($8 value). Our number one product request is a soap that can be pumped. We have tried and tried, but I have never made a batch I liked enough to release to the public. This version is about as close as we have come to something that may have mass appeal. The soap that you are trying today is made from a base to which I’ve added our most popular fragrance. If you like how this cleans, foams, and feels, LET ME KNOW! I think we might have something here. How perfect would it be to offer this in Bouquet and Sunflower, and then our Fall scent for August or September?! Mmmmmm, I can smell the apple cinnamon now!
