Hello, my name is Jan Visser. I’ve been married for 33 years to my husband Jerry, blessed with four sons, a beautiful daughter-in-law, and three adorable grandchildren! I have been selling HD Soap for two and a half years and have enjoyed every minute of it for many reasons!
I signed up to be a consultant with Hilltop Designs (now HD Soap) in May of 2017. My neighbor’s daughter had become a consultant, and I love to support ladies in their new ventures. My skin had not been happy with other products I had been using for many years and I wanted to love my skin again. In today’s world we encounter so many chemical-laden products, from household to skincare to what we ingest daily; I knew HD Soap’s products would be one more way I could rid chemicals from my life and maybe see a change in my skin for the better. I ordered a Turmeric Dry Mask and a bar of Gardener’s soap. What a difference HD made! No more flaky, dry, inflamed facial skin!
Stacy had given me a catalog, and I remember how it drew me in—not only because of the products and the cuteness of the catalog layout, but the whole kit and caboodle of what Hilltop was about: chemical-free, handmade, local, and affordable. I couldn’t stop thinking about the possibility of selling these products. Sales is not really my gift, but I had sold Creative Memories for many years and thoroughly enjoyed holding workshops in my home and making new friends through customers. To me, it was more about the experience and relationships. Looking back at that time, I knew that the Lord had used CM in preparing me to facilitate a group of women in Bible study at my church.
Fast forward to 2017 and with HD’s opportunity to help Christine sell her products, I sensed a real push from the Lord to get myself out in front of people again, build some confidence, and start healing. You see, I had been “hiding” in my house for a couple of years with a real fear of people and no desire to be social. The funny thing is I was also introduced to Younique makeup by my daughter-in-law at the same time I discovered Hilltop. I had actually signed on with Younique and had been giving that a go for a couple months. It wasn’t easy to sell, and I didn’t feel it was quite the right fit. However, HD was another possibility and kept tugging at me. I had two doors to walk through and needed to make a choice.
So after some prayer and contemplating, I took the plunge, ordered my kit, and have not regretted it for one minute! It wasn’t easy doing home shows at first and being the center of attention for an hour. It was downright stressful and scary! But I did it by God’s grace and strength, and I could feel the healing begin. I have stopped hiding! I have met so many ladies (customers and consultants alike) who I count as close friends because of this experience! I am enjoying the ride and I love helping others discover HD Soap’s chemical-free skincare options! HD has truly been nothing but a blessing to me.
