Hello fellow, HD fans! My name is Elisa Dushane and I have been an HD Soap consultant since November 2016! What a journey it has been!
My story starts with acne…a whole ton of acne…
I had been plagued with horrible skin since my early teenage years and all the way through adulthood. We’re talking cystic acne, surface acne, oil slick…the whole shebang. My poor mother tried everything, and I can’t imagine the amount of money that she spent on dermatology appointments and prescribed medications! I was on everything you could ever think of to help clear my acne: Accutane (which completely threw my system off and I had to offset by taking another medication, ugh!), Differin, Retin-A, everything… AND NOTHING WORKED. I was completely devastated and embarrassed.
I would cake on makeup every day of high school just to try and feel okay about my appearance. I wish I could go back and tell myself that my value did not lie in how I looked, that I could rest in the fact that God made me who He meant for me to be, that I was fearfully made and wonderfully loved by my Heavenly Father. Unfortunately, as a teenager, I focused far too much on my outward appearance. And I was unhappy.
Fast forward a bit to my adulthood…my huge acne problem had subsided a bit, but I still struggled pretty badly with uneven skin and breakouts regularly. At this point I had just resigned myself to the fact that “it is what it is.” As long as I could maintain (and not let it get worse), I was okay with that.
At that time I was using Cetaphil cleanser from a big box store. At least it did not make me worse…it was basically maintenance. I had no idea that something was on the horizon that could completely change my skin!
That something was the amazing Blueberry Goatmeal Square Bar!
I received a sample of this soap from a Hilltop consultant. I decided to use it twice a day on my face, and in two weeks my skin had completely changed! I could not even believe it! Nothing had ever worked before; I was hooked!
Even still, after all these years, the Blueberry Goatmeal Square Bar is a regular part of my skincare regimen, though a few of my other favorite HD products have joined the ranks. I also regularly use the Charcoal Dry Mask, the Sage Toner, the Whipped Pumice Scrub, and the Orange & Olive Oil Balm, just to name a few.
I am forever grateful to HD Soap for allowing me to feel more confident in my skin. I am also incredibly thankful for the opportunity it has afforded me to work from home with a very flexible schedule. Working as a consultant for HD Soap has been an amazing blessing to me and my family.
