Today we’d like to introduce you to another wonderful HD Soap consultant, Becky Black! Learn how she chooses to fit HD into her very busy schedule!
I’ve been an HD consultant since June of 2017. I purchased an Activated Charcoal Soap because it was the “new thing,” and I love supporting local companies. I’m also really interested in using simple products without a lot of synthetic chemical additives. My skin really started to look better, and soon I was getting into the consultant game because I wanted the “discount.”
Part of me can’t believe I’m still a consultant!
See, I dislike MLM companies. A lot. More often than not they are predatory, and sellers get stuck in impossibly unattainable sales goals where all the money they make is reinvested in a never-ending cycle of desperation and sadness. Most MLM companies set high sales quotas and low commissions and reward you for recruiting others—in fact that’s the only real way to get ahead.
HD is so different from that typical “MLM” game. I never, ever feel pressure to sell the products. I can easily meet my minimum quarterly goal with products for my family. But I’ve shared the products with friends and family, and I have also grown a small circle of loyal customers.
HD is my part-part-side gig. I teach high school, direct plays, run an improv team, and try to keep my two children from turning feral. I have pretty limited time for self-care, and even less to spend a lot of time trying to be a #bossbabe. So I don’t. I don’t have a team of consultants under me (in fact I have exactly zero), and while I do choose to have busy HD months, I never feel like I have to spend a great deal of energy “growing my business.” Maybe I could do that, but in 2020 I was one of the top 10 consultants in the company…for the second year in a row. I’m not going to quit my day job, but HD has financed more than one vacation for my family, and my skin has never looked better.
I use HD head-to-toe, and so do all of my family members. The only bathroom product that is not HD anymore is our toothpaste (hint, hint Christine…). I also threw away all of my foundation, concealer, etc. and I love that my five-year-old daughter can see her mama loving her skin.
I also love the input I feel that I have in the company. I’ve been lucky enough to product-test so many cool things! I enjoy knowing the owners personally as well as professionally (Dan and I are going to figure out how to save the world someday). And I love that I’m helping others discover that great skin doesn’t have to come with a huge price tag!
